What Is Best Music Production Software For Intel Macs??

I thought i had done my homework. ..Now it is blatently obvious that i did not. I just dropped 2g's on a macbook pro that runs on intel. Only to realize after apple.Com has shipped it...That Cubase SX (program i was leaning towards)...Doesnt recommend nor offer any sort of support for intel mac.
In doing a little more research, it seems like no programs are suited for intel macs.

Any one currently running music production software on an intelmac? if so..any problems??
What would you recommend??
Im basically looking for a laptop based 'home recording studio' using an audio interface

My plan was: Macbook Pro with Presonus Firepod w/ Cubase LE, and upgrading to the SX version...But now that is scratched.

Please help!!
